Shophouses are a prevalent building type in Singapore’s architectural and built heritage. Constructed between the 1840s and the 1960s, many shophouses are still around today as they have been carefully restored and conserved.
The Tiffin Carrier is a tiered container used for transporting meals that was popular in Singapore in the 1970s. A distinct feature of a Peranakan tiffin carrier were the intricate ornaments on the enamel body.
